I've just come through the first winter in my Pod which has been good. The appeal of living in a place like this, for a young person starting out, is it's hard to get onto the property ladder. Rather than paying rent the benefit of starting off small is you can put cash in the bank for a long term solution to work towards buying a place.

Partnering with Ecopod to coordinate the off-grid systems made it easy to ensure the amenities and the services were appropriate for our needs. Prefabricated building, with a company like Ecopod, also means there’s less contractor time on-site, less programme uncertainty and site disturbance, assured quality, and most importantly known and lower cost especially in remote and rural areas.

Ecopod was the best for price, aesthetics and materials. We liked the way Ecopods were constructed – the materials, durability, warmth in winter with the double glazing and insulation, and the ability to keep cool in summer. We visited the Ecopod workshop to see the materials and how they were made, and it was all top-quality stuff. And the cladding is great – hardwearing, low maintenance. It all looks very natural.

We found them very helpful and reliable, they went out of their way to assist us with adding a new sleepout to our property for our elder son. Amazed at how they managed to place it on our section over the palm trees. They were really helpful and we were able to see the progress of it being made step by step in their warehouse. We did a lot of research on transportable baches and couldn't beat Ecopods for style, craftsmanship and price. We worked with Ecopod to shape a pod that was perfect for our section! It was great to sit down with the team and plan everything from the layout, aluminium joinery, to little things like the location of power points and kitchen shelving. Our pod was delivered just in time for a big family Christmas at the beach and now we're super keen to get the second pod underway!

The Ecopod team were amazing to deal with, always going above and beyond (letting 4 little boys under 3 help ‘dig’ the foundations ready for the pod delivery the next day). The craftsmanship and detail on the pods is of high quality, in particular the joinery and massive sliding doors. We wanted our pod to look like an extension of our house so we had positioned right up the side of it by the crew and painted the same colour as the house, so it just looks like it’s been there forever. I researched for months to find the best pod that didn’t look like a weird addition plonked on the section. We highly recommend Ecopod to anyone.
